Comments: This work has a quality which appeals to me and which comes through fairly well on the computer screen, but which is lost when the work is framed and hung on the wall. When you put a piece of glass over a very dark work the glare and reflections can make it almost impossible to see. Anti glare glass can help a little but it also clouds the surface texture. I really wish people could see and experience these as I do -- unframed on a drawing table. One of the reasons I use oil pastels is because they build contrasts which are not lost behind glass. This work was basically unfinished. I had it and several others spread out on the floor and as I paced around thinking about them I dropped a triangle which ripped the surface. I went on to add pastels to others in the set but to do so to this one would simply draw more attention to the rip.
